Confirmed from Mooween State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quiet park featuring a small lake popular for kayaking and fishing.
What runners say about Mooween State Park
“Locals (including us) keep it clean and protect it from unwanted visitors.”
“Mooween State Park is absolutely beautiful.”
Very comfortable hike except that the trail map at the entrance is too faded to be of any use. Also the red trail at the north is an endless loop with no way out. Took an extra 40 minutes to find the Northern end
Ok so I don’t know if it was really allowed but we camped there it was nice. The trails were nice. Great overlook of the pond/lake. I would say careful around summer tome I’m sure it’s full of bikers and motor cars/bikes but it’s a safe place to chill and go on a hike.
Mooween State Park is absolutely beautiful. I still have lots to explore there. I can tell you the lake is clean and you can see the bottom. It's the cleanest lake I have seen in a long time. The parking in the beginning is not the best, you just pull over on the side of the road.
Once you get off the main gravel path trail it is a little difficult to figure out where you are. The trails on the eastern section of the park are not marked, so be sure to keep the map handy and, if you get lost, just head back toward the lake. Designated parking is a little tight.

“Great intermediate to expert level mountian bike trails.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
