Great trail, rated as moderate by most people that use it and by AllTrails. The trail is Narrow with not many places for passing people going the opposite direction, and pretty rocky. Everyone we ran into was very nice. We went in the late evening so we hit all the people leaving and were the last couple on the trail.
This was an amazing trail. It is within Reno. It is about 6 miles in total and challenging. There is rocky terrain, a cliff, and waterfall. The kiddos made it about a mile and left with dad for donuts! I continued hiking to the waterfall which was about 3 miles up.
Loved this hike. It's a good distance, with mild elevation gain. The trail hugs the side of a ravine the whole way, each time you round a corner you have a whole new view. Some snow and slippery ice pack toward the end (though that probably varies based on time of year).
This park is a hidden treasure on the outskirts of Reno. I can tell you that I was definitely huffing and puffing through the long trail, but the beauty and changing scenery made it absolutely worth it. The trail changes from hill to rocky and then you are in a beautiful forested area and finally to a waterfall.
