We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Jed Johnson Tower Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Jed Johnson Tower Trail
“The view was gorgeous and the hike was not that hard but will take you threw a couple challenges definitely recommended”
This was a fun hike! Unfortunately you can't actually go into the tower, but it was still a beautiful view. I slipped on a rock and hurt my knee. Probably because I thought I was still as agile as a teenager.
Beautiful trail leading up to the Jed Johnson Tower. The trail is easy to moderately challenging and has spectacular views of the lake throughout.
This was a beautiful hike, not long there's a small parking spot it's free to park and the hike is very beautiful. There's a nice lake you can see the further up you go. To this really unique tower. You cannot go in it sadly. But it's very humbling.
I'm not a huge hikler but this was easy. It was a well marked trail. The farther up you get the more rocks and steps there are. Once up top the view is pretty. I was just left wondering how they managed to build that tower up there without a road to it.
Trail conditions & character
“Loved the view, unfortunately my wife and I were chased by a cow, so I subtracted a star for that, still recommend though.”
“There's another trail that continues past it it doesn't go far but it guides you to start going up to the rocks further up the hill side.”
