Confirmed from John Lee Pratt Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about John Lee Pratt Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (634 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Very safe and spacious running trails, clean restrooms, and a very festive atmosphere!”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“It's a great park to walk, run, and hang out with family and friends.”

Pratt, Brooks, Chatam have been connected for years and easily offers 5-6 miles of walking, running, and some biking along its many trails. Pavillions with lights & fans and adjacent wooded areas that have at least 1 creek feeding the Rappahannock River provide shaded areas and other opportunities for recreation.

★★★★★ — Tommy , Feb 2022

Huge park with tons of things to do. There’s 2 basketball courts, 4 tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, trails around the park and to Chatham and other parks, and of course a ton of grassy space. There are restrooms on site. There’s also a nice stage that I’ve never seen used before but could be a cool venue.

★★★★★ — Andrew , Jul 2020

Highly recommend this park if you’re looking to walk your dog, bike, play on the play ground, or play soccer. There are soccer fields/goals, the playground is covered for the kids, swings are uncovered but they have swings for young and big. They have a trails for biking the entire park.

★★★★★ — Alex , Jun 2022

This is a great park. A sweet little playground for the small kids, a beast ninja warrior course for the adventurous, basketball court, tennis court, miscellaneous court, giant open field, walking trails, forested picnic tables, and you can even walk to Chatham Manor from here. You cant go wrong here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
