Confirmed from Lucien Morin Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Marsh area popular with canoers & kayakers also offers birdwatching, fishing, hiking & geo-caching.
What runners say about Lucien Morin Park
“Nice park for hiking and biking, hilly and borders the Irondequoit Creek estuary into the bay and can get great views from on top the hills.”
Lots of very well marked and clean trails! The amount of trails means you can take and distance hike you want, from a short 20 minute walk to over an hour. Terrain is mostly easy, apart from an occasional tree root. Can be hilly at times but the incline is not too steep.
Park with an interesting history. It was the New York State National Guard property in 1934. Some evidence can still be found of the rifle and pistol ranges. Rugged trails. Beautiful lookout over Irondequoit Bay. No amenities. This is a hiking park that is beautifully rustic.
Great hiking location. There are several trails that you can choose from and most intersect with each other. You can walk as little as one mile or over five miles if you choose. There are several wetlands and good outlooks. It’s worth a trip!
Very nice park, trails are poorly marked so it is easy to get turned around.

“Warning, the trail colors on the entrance map do not always match the trail colored markers.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
