Confirmed from Marquam Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
193 acres of undeveloped land & over 5 miles of hiking trails with forested scenic views.
What runners say about Marquam Nature Park
“Very well maintained area and not too crowded on a Monday.”
“Excellent trail for 4 miles, very scenic,Parking is in plenty and so is the connection to the city tram services after the trail,Highly refreshing work out.”
“The trails are well marked and there are maps at the park.”
“One of the best urban-esk hikes around the city, great views poke out around the trail, very quiet and peaceful.”
Beautiful nature walks/hiking. Pretty easy hikes and harder trails going up through the hills, but they have some great switch backs that make it a bit easier. I love that the park is right behind our house. My husband and I love taking our pup running along the trails.
I am in town from Texas for work and wanted to hit up some trails around Tigard. There were so many on Google but I'm so glad I settled on these. The walk was so peaceful and there wasn't many people at all when I went. There were so many trees I forgot I was near the city.
This park was a nice place to unwind from being in the town and from people. There's a couple of trails you can pick that are pretty nice to explore. There's many birds and animals you can hear and different plants to see.
You would never think this is so close to the city. Absolutely loved it. The trails are great, and you get a little incline. Great scenery, the sheer beauty of this park. I sat down in a couple of the areas. It was extremely peaceful. Plenty of parking, and some people had dogs with them. Check it out.

“The feeling of wooded isolation is remarkable, considering how close this park is to downtown.”
“There's no local restroom and the parking lot level is not so great but it's not bad enough to scrape a small car bottom.”
“Dog walkers are plentiful and views of down town can be found with a little work up steep trails.”
“Some of the trails have been renamed, so if you've done any route planning online, the names on the trail markers may be different.”
“The trails had a number of exposed roots and medium sized rocks, making for good traction, but also potential for twisted ankles.”
“One example is that the former Shelter Loop Trail is now called the Shadyside Trail.”
