Confirmed from Nickel Plate Beach ( Huron, OH )'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

It's actually a pretty nice sandy beach. A little debris on the beach which for me isn't a big deal. It's natural and it's nature. It's pretty wide but short beach which can get a bit crowded at times. $6 for parking. Nice clean bathrooms with shower on outside for rinsing off sand.

Nice big beach with crashing waves and soft sand. There were lots of dead fish on the left side of the beach when we were there. Also, it looks as if there is a place where you can rent kayaks and whatnot called the "paddle shack." However, it wasn't open yet as it was right before Memorial Day when we were there.

Nickel Plate Beach is a fantastic destination for a fun-filled day by the water! While swimming and tanning are always options, the beach offers so much more to keep you entertained.

Beautiful & quiet beach! Tucked back into a quiet neighborhood. Seems mostly locals were there. It was very clean & beautiful. The shore was just perfect to walk along for those "just wanting to get their feet wet". There were a couple of photo-ops there (large Adirondack chair & a Lake Erie sign).

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
