This is a very popular preserve. When I arrived early there were already a dozen cars there. The trail starts with a nice boardwalk. There are a few different trails you can take. I just took the putter loop to see as much as I could. There is an area with a much longer boardwalk area over marsh ground.
No dogs or pets allowed. Trails and boardwalks are very well maintained. Some of the trails have elevation gains just be aware. There a quite a few adult and juvenile Bald eagle's. The nature center is nice when open. A great place to enjoy nature. They've recently added a mesh over the boardwalks for traction.
A must see if you love natural beauty. I learned so much about estuaries. A fun easy hike through gorgeous woods, open grasslands, and the estuary. Highly recommended!
Absolutely beautiful place to walk, enjoyed seeing the bald eagles soaring overhead. Loved the educational information available on signs. We saw a Downy woodpecker too. We enjoyed walking 3 trails despite the wintry icy day. I recommend steering clear of trails with stairs until ice melts. No pets are allowed.
