Confirmed from Oxbow Nature Preserve Lake Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Oxbow Nature Preserve Lake Trail
“Not the best in Maryland, but definitely clean and the people in the area were very respectful of others.”
“Great place for an easy hike along the water.”
A gem (in this case, more of a green emerald) right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The trail doesn't skirt the lake too much (but still provides some great views) but goes into the woods for a very pleasant and easy hike which makes you feel like you're in the middle of the wilderness.
Really nice, secluded trails around a lake. Not the best in Maryland, but definitely clean and the people in the area were very respectful of others. Lots of people socially distanced. The majority were wearing masks.
Great place for an easy hike along the water. Trails are reasonably well-maintained. Google map of the trails is accurate.
The trail has eroded significantly over the past 2-3 years. I’m imagining it’ll require a full reroute in a few years from now.
