Confirmed from Wincopin Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice local trail! I ran the red trail today to test out my trail running shoes and it was the perfect testing ground. It followed the stream and it was nicely shaded. Well maintained and very well marked. No way for you to get lost. I'll be back to explore the other trails later.

As an introvert, I like trails where people are clean, quiet, and respectful of the environment and others. I think this trail does well at that. Here are some mushrooms I found without leaving the marked trail.

Beautiful outdoor adventures along the river. A variety of paths from mostly smooth compacted dirt to rocky more adventurous narrow paths. Great for all ages of hikers.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Among many delights, the view of the Little Patuxent River valley in the Savage Park segment (closest to my home) is wonderful.”
