We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of PA Grand Canyon yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about PA Grand Canyon

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (2,107 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“This was a beautiful canyon, absolutely amazing view, I didn't walk the trails because we went on a really cold day but it was well worth the drive there.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It’s a peaceful and scenic place, perfect for hiking, photography, or just relaxing in nature.”

We visited the PA Grand Canyon during the fall season, and it was absolutely beautiful! The fall colors were stunning vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellowing & with green everywhere. We really enjoyed the trail walks and spending time near the waterfront areas with a few lovely waterfalls along the way.

Beautiful, quiet, and full of color. The views stretch for miles with the Pine Creek River flowing through the bottom of the gorge. In fall, the entire valley turns red, orange, and gold — it looks like a giant painting.

I mean seriously who doesn't love the Pennsylvania Grand canyon? There are so many trails and so many amazing vistas, I've been going here for years and still find new stuff every time I visit.

★★★★★ — Jeremy , Jul 2025

I'm not sure I would drive 3.5 hours to get here again, anytime soon, but it was worth the trip to see. And would be pretty amazing to plan a weekend or something in the area. Great staff at the park, not a lot of people, but the main two trails are rather short.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
