Everybody says it, and it's true. This is a trail you have to ride to appreciate all the beauty of the PA grand canyon. We rode it over two days, stayed half way in Cedar Run. We walked the Turkey trail to the top of the canyon as well. That's a really nice hike with beautiful sites and two waterfalls.
My husband and I biked the length of this trail, from Wellsboro to Jersey Shore. (Local outfitter company moved our truck - highly recommend.) From north to south, it trends slightly downhill, which is pleasant! We took two bottles of water each, which was enough.
Amazing experience for the cyclist or hiker. Trail surface is flawless and the scenery and surroundings are truly heavenly. Recommend any and all sections, and traveling North, staying in Wellsboro and returning to Jersey Shore if you are doing an out and back through ride.
Love the trail, well kept and managed. Lots of signage and notice boards keep you informed on where you are and what to expect. Trail is wide and gravel surfaced,drained well so no mud, but not too gravely. Any bike with 1" or wider tires should be fine.
