Confirmed from Pinnacle Mountain State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“The scenery was peaceful, clean, and full of natural beauty.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“Even though it's been three hours since I climbed it I cannot stop thinking about this place because it is so gorgeous and just so rewarding.”

🪧 well-marked 4 mentions

“The last two or three mile markers is when you start climbing the boulders, but it’s very good exercise!”

seriously an awesome experience. The West Summit trail starts near the playground, and is considered much less steep than the East trail. I appreciate that there is an easily accessible trail around the base of the mountain that does not require experience to traverse, and all things considered the base trail is flat.

Get away to the scenic wonders! In 2023, my husband and I visited this beautiful state park and hiked the base trail. We chose to return because we didn't have enough time to hike to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain. On March 24, 2025, we hiked to the West Summit Trail. This is a 1.

As a nature guru, I love getting out in and finding new places to visit. This might sound odd, but as many times as I have been in Little Rock, I never knew this little gem existed. Thanks to the Arkansas passport, it has shown me places I never knew about.

Pinnacle Mountain is absolutely breathtaking! We took the west Summit Trail to the top and oh my gosh, even though it is a very challenging climb getting to the top it was well worth it. You have to do it at least once.!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
