Confirmed from Plaistow Town Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Plaistow Town Forest

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (122 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Some spots were muddy or filled with water but still very beautiful.”

🪧 well-marked 6 mentions

“Nothing to difficult to traverse with a small selection of different well marked trails to choose from.”

I did 5.6 miles in 2.75 hours. What a great trail. It's got wide, well marked trails with roots, rocks and inclines/declines. Lots of large boulders and a few scenic areas that have benches. There's a couple of covered bridges, boardwalks and waterfalls. A few muddy areas but easily maneuverable.

I took the red trail and blue short cut. Good for 4yr Olds and up. He loved it. It was a good experience for him. He wants to go back. This trail is mostly flat with some inclines not to bad. Good starting trails. Of course do not forget bug repellent.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 9 mentions

“If visiting with dogs, be sure to follow the laws and keep your dogs on leash + pick up any waste and dispose of it in the bins at the parking lot.”
