This is a beautiful park with great hiking, even in the winter. We hiked the overlook trail starting across the street from the beach parking lot. Expect a lot of switchbacks and a rocky trail. But the way up the mountain is beautiful and hosts several ferns, moss and low shrubs that stay green through the winter.
I randomly found this state park on google maps and was glad I did. It’s very easy to navigate through and has beautiful scenery. There is a lake with a sandy beach front, which features an area for swimming. They have a variety of pavilions for parties with playgrounds and accessible grills.
We just wrapped up our camping weekend at RB Winter and it was perfect. Such a beautiful park you don't really need to leave. The hiking/biking trails are great for beginners to more advanced and the beach makes for amazing sunsets. The campground educator, Rebekah I think, was great. I really enjoyed her programming.
This definitely one of the more popular state parks and it is easy to see why. Lots of room to spend the night or day. The campground seems a bit tighter than some, but the day use areas are extra nice.
