Confirmed from River to Sea Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Uncrowded, scenic beach with a boardwalk for viewing, along with trails through palm forests.
What runners say about River to Sea Preserve
“Beautiful and easily accessible beach here with ample parking, clean bathrooms, a dune top boardwalk and a large picnic pavilion.”
“June 16, 2025 was our 1st visit to this beautiful beach 🏖️ Today June 17th we went back with our grandkids as we are visiting from California.”
“Search calm waves with tiny fragments of shells and beautiful seashells along the shore.”
Parking is good and much safer than street side. Room for 50-75 cars. Public Restrooms and outside shower. Boardwalk leading to beach. (Not very long distance) We like the rows of rocks that lead out to the water on right and left sides. If you take small children, it isn’t as difficult to keep them in site.
Cannot say enough positive things about this place. This preserve has no entry fee I saw. It had a large covered pavilion at the very front entrance and is filled with very manageable trails I was able to navigate by myself with a double stroller and two toddlers.
There is a lot to see at the River to Sea Preserve. There are a lot of trails to walk on in great condition. The trails are wide so you don't have to worry about brushing against trees and possibly getting ticks.
Gorgeous. Didn’t do the trail or whole boardwalk. We went for a beach day. Did have ramps for wagons. Thank goodness. We walked off to the right towards all the rocks. It’s peaceful and more private. Downfall is the Shell type of sand. It can hurt when it gets all bunched up in your bathing suit.

“The trail is basically a large loop in a square shape, whereas the back of the loop runs along the ICW waterfront.”
