Confirmed from Riverview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A very nice and well-maintained park with great places for walking and jogging, plus a historic observatory, playgrounds, a pool, and other amenities.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“We just went on one trail so I can’t speak about all the trails or the whole park, but it is beautiful.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Riverview Park offers amazing views and peaceful spots to relax, with plenty of trails and pavilions nestled into the woods.”

Riverview Park is the best place for a daily walk or weekend adventure through the many trails throughout the park. I see deer everywhere and every time I’m there. Fantastic view from the observatory on top of the hill.

We just went on one trail so I can’t speak about all the trails or the whole park, but it is beautiful. Google maps doesn’t show all the places you can park, but there are signs here and there. The trail we went on was a bit rough with some ridges in it, so some maintenance would be helpful.

Nice park close to the city! Although a bit smaller than frick and similar in size to schenley there are some nice hiking trails and green areas. Also one of the best places for cycling with a one way road that leads to the observatory with very little traffic

Riverview Park offers amazing views and peaceful spots to relax, with plenty of trails and pavilions nestled into the woods. It’s a nice place to escape to in the city. The scenery is nice but not breathtaking. It’s a good place for a quiet day outdoors.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
