Confirmed from Russell Burgess Coastal Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Russell Burgess Coastal Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (203 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“this place is beautiful my airbnb was right across the street from it and we had a really tall balcony it was so cool to watch the tide go in and out during the day”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“This place is beautiful and very quiet.”

Says this place is dedicated to maintaining and preserving the Marsh, yet there was liter and debris everywhere. It was very heartbreaking to see so much fishing line tangled among the reeds and drift wood. We pulled as much of it as we could out of the reeds and put it in garbage can.

This place is beautiful and very quiet. No fishing from the boardwalk. Not a lot to do but relax here. Very short boardwalk but beautiful.

★★★★★ — Krista , Nov 2019

There is a short little boardwalk. It was a nice preserve. Saw birds and plenty of tiny crabs. Seeing the crabs was neat. The kids stood as still as they could to watch them come out of the holes in the ground but one movement and they are all so quick and right back into a hole. It was cool.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
