Confirmed from Salem Town Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Salem Town Forest

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (164 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“It's so beautiful even with the snow the birds lots of animal tracks”

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“A nice trail mostly wide and well marked.”

We did 3.65 miles in just under 2 hours. A nice trail mostly wide and well marked. We saw some ducks, geese, frogs, a toad and a chipmunk. Lots of bridges/boardwalks. One area was impassible due to flooding. We made an alternate route around that area and got back on the trail.

Being a guy from Texas on a business trip during a pandemic, this was a wonderful place to get outdoors and walk around. I very much appreciate the work that has gone into creating this area and these trails.

Loved this place. There are a lot of trails, benches along the way to sit and rest and it's very clean. I will be back to walk the rest if the trails. Good fall foliage here too

Nice trails. All marked. Clean. There were people walking with fishing poles so there must be somewhere to go.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
