Confirmed from Savannah Oaks Hiking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking spot including a steep hill, a forest, and a meadow with a paved trail.
What runners say about Savannah Oaks Hiking Trail
“We hung out for a long time on the park bench at the peek, enjoying the shade, the breeze, the beautiful view, and the eagles soaring just over our heads.”
This was a nice hidden jem! Parked at greens coulee park the day before being here and the trails actually connect so it was extra neat. Starting here was so much easier then greens coulee which was really steep
Took the newer trail on the north side of the little valley. Loved it! Paths wide enough for side-by-side hiking with a partner, gradual slopes which accommodate an out-of shape hiker like me, and fantastic views from the top.
Really like supporting the nature conservancy trails but find their maps and trails do not jive. Maps have numbered spots of interest while on the trail they are named. Please rectify
All uphill...unless you're coming down. GREAT views! Trails are great. Some single track stuff that is a bit narrow but passable. Definitely worth it.

“We headed straight out to the point for a full view of Greens Coulee then over to the mushroom 🍄🟫 rock for a little vigorous climb.”
“The trail is a steep hill but the meadow at the bottom has a paved trail for those who prefer flat.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
