Nice location, free parking and you can drive on the beach with a 4x4/awd vehicle. I personally just went to walk my dog, the sand has tons of shells a is pretty long until you reach the water. Waves crashing on the beach is always a sight to see. excellent location just to get away.
It was awesome walking on the trail saw different birds and was in touch with nature gotta admit a little nervous to come across an alligator but didn't so that's a plus
Best time to enjoy the drive-on beach experience is just between 1300 & 1400 since the local lunchers return to work and the day is not yet at it's peak heat. The sand is warm but not scorching, gets a little breezy, therefore plan for lite items to be blown away, wall it, stake it, or secure it properly.
One of our family's favorite places to go! Beautiful walks on the beach not too crowded depending on the time of year. You also can drive your four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive on the beach. Parking can be limited depending on the time of the year. There is a bathroom nearby and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand.
