Confirmed from Shadow Bay Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This park is located in a suburban area on 100+ acres of scrub pine/oak habitat. The park contains both an ~one mile long paved walking trail, a tennis complex, and a natural (unmodified) scrub pine/oak habitat. The paved walking trail is a multi -purpose trail designed for pedestrians and dog walkers.

Basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Nature trails and covered pavilions were comfortable. The playground next to the pavilion was safely constructed. Weather was extremely hot during my visit but we managed to enjoy ourselves.

★★★★☆ — Gloria , Jul 2022

What a nice park and playground! They have a lot of amenities like baseball fields, basketball courts, walking trails, grills, and pavilions. The area is well taken care of and has a nice woodland reserve to enjoy. The playground is tucked way in the back of the park, and can be a little tricky to find.

★★★★☆ — Richel , May 2023

We visited the park for the first time since we moved to nearby 4+ years ago. It was a very nice place. The trails were mostly shaded and paved so no trouble to walk. We had seen several people with baby strollers. It had 17 tennis courts and the cost was between $4-$6 per hour, that was very inexpensive.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
