I came few days ago, so I knew pretty well about the park. I wanted to watch sunrise on Petrified Dunes because of a open view. One of our favorite hikes in Snow Canyon State Park is petrified dunes! there is a great deal of red rocks and a variety of plant life. The best time to visit is after it rains, so you can see all the puddles and ponds. If you’re lucky enough to visit when it’s raining, there are many waterfalls!
1 mile from parking lot to stunning views. Trail is easy to start then gets harder in the rocks/boulders. We did it with our kids just be ready for uneven terrian. Stunning views all around and worth the trek in. Take the Hidden Pinyon trail back to car for a fun adventure( and shade).
Amazing views and wow wildlife galore! Saw tadpoles, lizards, and the elusive desert tortoise! Kids did well on this hike from the trailhead all the way to the lookout. Took about 2 hours round trip with lots of stops to look and play. Highly recommend!
