Confirmed from Stella Olsen Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“This is a lovely, well maintained park that's suitable for families with little ones and those who don't want a very challenging hike outdoors.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Now the new path that goes up to the Hampton Inn has made Stella even more beautiful.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“As a dog owner, I wanted to inform you that there are long stretches without shade.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Around this park is very quiet and low traffic.”

I was very pleased to happen upon this wonderful little uncrowded park after finding out I couldn't bring my dog for a walk at the Tualatin River wildlife area. I probably saw more wildlife here than I could have seen down the road and I could bring my well- mannered leashed dog as well! Highly recommended!

Been going to this park since i was a kid. Many good memories in this park. Used to hang out here after school. The park has the same path ways from ten years ago which i like and they have improved so much like the pavement and etc.

This park is one of the reasons we were fell in love with Sherwood. What you see from the street is a nice playground and open meadow space. What we love are the trails along the creek. Lots of great wildlife, nature, wooden paths, and more.

Used to go here as a child myself in the early 2000s. Since then, it's gotten a facelift and better restrooms with drinking water fountains available. Pretty clean. Lots of walking trails if you go down the hill that will take you through Woodhaven neighborhood and the Sherwood Middle School up the road.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
