Confirmed from Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful park with nature trails and an observation tower to the Ortega river.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Really liked, a calm place, nice walk, and there is a mountain bike trail.”

The trail is marked good enough. Make sure you take the split to the right on the boardwalk that isn’t marked blue or you will miss the lookout tower. There is no signage for it at all. It near where the brick road end and you see a fence. It can be a little confusing but the boardwalk takes you to the lookout.

★★★★★ — Kelly , Dec 2023

The walking trails are great and give a good variety to see. I'd recommend driving all the way to the and and enter at the nature center. Entering anywhere else is fine, but its all the same trails. There are 2 main trail starts, one on each side of the road. And there are several trails within the trails.

★★★★☆ — Joshua , Mar 2025

Beautiful park with at least two main trails and boardwalks. The blue trail ends in observation tower overlooking swamp behind it is Ortega river. Closer to entrance there is also dog park. Parking area is not huge but adequate. Parking is free.

★★★★☆ — Talal , Nov 2023

Nice quiet walk on the tower trail. The trail starts past the nature center. Would be neat for a historical marker on the brick road. Lookout tower was peaceful. Some of the boardwalk leading up to the tower are in need of repair. Overall nice place for a morning hike.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
