Confirmed from VITA Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park offering a trail that's good for running and walking.
What runners say about VITA Trail
“Lovely, well maintained park with great visibility and friendly people running and jogging.”
“It's a nice place to walk, to jog, or just to sit and relax Has beautiful old trees, squirrels and geese.”
“Great spot to go for a quick run or to get your daily exercises in.”
I'm a driver for Greyhound and I drive from NYC to Richmond. When I arrive I do my morning walk from the terminal to the VITA trail. Very nicely maintained trail with exercise stations throughout the trail. The people along my walk are very friendly and actually speak and say good morning.
This is such a great place to walk if you are trying to get your "steps" in for the day. There are walkers, joggers and runners on the path and best of all there is no worry about dogs being off leash there.
The urban park area is tree-lined with open grassy spaces, no shrubbery, and good visibility. This trail is surfaced and wide enough to pass. There are lots of walkers and some runners. Blanton Ave. borders two sides so you will see cars. When the geese are present you have to watch your step.🙂
Very nice trail and even levels...a few inclines to give you that push. Free to move at your own pace without feeling pushed. It's also nice that no bikes are allowed so you don't have to worry about that either.
Trail conditions & character
“I gave it 5 but I only went around it as I did not realize it was a no dog trail and I had my dog so I had to off road it back to the sidewalk across the street.”
“The loop is exactly one mile, and the exercises really give you a full-body workout that you can complete at your own pace.”
“It's a nice place to walk, to jog, or just to sit and relax Has beautiful old trees, squirrels and geese.”
“Almost a complete mile loop of gravel track with gentle hills here and there.”
“I like this track because it's not just a flat circle.”
