Confirmed from Wade Mountain Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular area offering paved and woodsy trails for family-friendly hiking, and picnicking.
What runners say about Wade Mountain Greenway
“The initial stretch is a well kept path of fairly level asphalt, unlike the other paved greenways in the area which are concrete.”
“On beautiful days the parking lot will be full; hope they expand it in the future with all the new housing being built nearby.”
“The trails are well-marked, but some sections can be quite steep and rugged, so proper hiking gear is recommended.”
There are sights to behold on Wade Mountain, but they are scattered among long stretches of less thrilling scenery. If you decide to begin at the west Greenway, I recommend taking the Bostick trail instead of Fossil Bridge. Together they form a 5.5 mile loop, but the Fossil Bridge Trail is largely unimpressive.
Great place to get your mind cleared, a break from whatever is back down the mountain, course when you hike back down you remember the job still needs finishing. During Spring & Summer it's great, would recommend highly recommend water proof hiking shoes as the trails can be muddy.
Wade Mountain Nature Preserve – A Hidden Gem for Hiking and Geocaching Wade Mountain Nature Preserve is a fantastic destination for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a more advanced hiking experience.
We love the Wade Mountain Greenway! The first three quarters of a mile is a relatively flat out-and-back paved walk with plenty of room for multiples to walk side by side. When our kids were little we would bring their bikes for them to ride.

“It connects to a dirt trail that is much more difficult (moderate difficulty) that extends for few miles in a loop around the Wade Mountain further up and more remote.”
