Confirmed from Wade Mountain Nature Preserve (Spragins Hollow Trailhead)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling, hilly terrain with rugged hiking trails, abundant wildlife & scenic valley views.

“Very peaceful & pretty place for an easy hike with my pup!”
Wade Mountain Nature Preserve, Pulaski Pike Trailhead. Fossil Bench Trail. Christmas Holiday off, so I decided to go for a hike. Since I been to various trails on Monte Sano and most local trails in Madison, I looked up local hiking trails on All Trails.
Wade Mountain Nature Preserve is one of my favorite places in Huntsville to hike and trail run. There is a variety of features, wildlife, and options. Typically I hike up Devil’s Racetrack trail, go West on Shovelton, then South on Rock Wall trail back to the parking lot (about 4 miles.
The trails here are well maintained and the parking lots and trail heads are great. Great place to go to get out in nature without having to drive far or be too isolated. Make sure you wear OFF or something to deter ticks, and they are rampant in the spring, summer, and warm parts of fall.
The walkway from the parking lot to the hiking trail is wide, well kept, and paved. There's a covered pavilion area, but 4 stars because there's no restroom. Trails are well marked. Will definitely be going back.
