We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Westrail Walking Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Westrail Walking Trail
“Great for a walk, a jog or a bike ride.”
Great for a walk, a jog or a bike ride. I've seen many animals on the Los Ebanos to 802 portion. Just last week I spotted a cardinal. I have also seen a brown owl, a pelican, wild bunnies, and skunks!
Great place for a walk or a run. There is a resaca, and at the moment there are so many wild sunflowers. We brought our puppy and he loved it. It's pretty safe and the lights come on right at sundown. There are runners, joggers, walkers, and cyclists. Some neighborhood dogs bark, but they're not a threat.
Easily accessible for wheelchair users. I can make it to the nearby park or corner store in the good amount of time without worrying about traffic. I am so glad this trail finally exists!
I have been on three parts of this trail, it is wonderful and secure nicely lit. My only complaint is there is a little bit of garbage but I try to pick some up

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
