Confirmed from Whitehall Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This new park near downtown Beaufort sits along the marsh right before the bridge. It has a concrete and sand trail that connects numerous benches that are positioned for a view at the marsh and beyond. There is a covered pavilion for use in rainy weather. Best of all ancient oaks shade 70% of this gorgeous park.

Excellent park place to be. Just finished recently. It’s next to historic district of Beaufort and Bridge which has been featured in movie ‘Forest Gump’!! Lots of huge Oak tree cover. Walking path is getting completed. Benches for sitting ‘n relaxing in nature!!

Walk your dog, have a picnic, sit on a bench overlooking the water, walk up the bridge... For me, the highlights were the beautiful trees with Spanish moss. Hidden just off the highway over the bridge from downtown Beaufort, it's worth a stop just for the trees!

Clean, scenic park with river views and old oak trees. Great for walks with the dog or a picnic. Tables and benches in great shape, even a covered pavilion and clean bathrooms. Nice walking path to the Beaufort River.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
