Confirmed from Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Visitor Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve offering guided tram tours, reptile exhibits and a playground, plus rescued birds.
What runners say about Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Visitor Center
I have been going to Boyd Hill since 1975. It is one place in St. Petersburg that you can see what nature is supposed to look like. There are snakes,Rabbits Tortoises, Hawks- Raccoons and Opossums and Alligators all in the wild. They also have Raptors (Birds of prey)that have been injured.
A wonderful, quiet oasis in the city of Saint Petersburg. Fine trails to choose from, water stations and shelter along a few trails. Saw birds, a turtle, heard alligators grunt. Visited the aviary, nice giftshop and nature center. At 1 pm a train takes you through the preserve, Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms.
Great little natural park with walking trails and a playground conveniently in St Pete. You'll almost always see Gopher Tortoises and sometimes quite a few gators. This last time we visited it was three adults, a five year old and a three year old...
A wonderful park, top teir trails through the wetlands and along the lake and creek. Filled with animals of all varieties including some permanently injured birds of prey they care for. Great place to see Florida's nature at its best.
