Confirmed from Downs Farm Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Downs Farm Preserve
“These beautiful creations of nature serve as home for various species of animals.”
Such a peaceful trail and great caretakers Taralyn & Linda from wild hearts - great job ladies!!
The property boarders the marshes and the trail winds through the woods. My visit was just after a snowfall and the ice underfoot was a little noisy for birding. There is a bird feeder at the cabin which attracted many birds. On the southern boarder, bow hunting is allowed and somehow I missed the sign to keep out.
Quick loop hike from the parking lot in secondary growth woods area. Some parts of preserve are available for archery hunters only. Preserve’s trail is wide, so likely safer from ticks perspective. The only missing punchline for me was viewpoints of creek.
Nice short, easy trail about 1 mile. Right off main road, free parking. Easy to walk for kids, adults. Beautiful trees. Nature center with programs ( not sure of hours)
