No service animals allowed or pets. No smoking is allowed here. It's free to use the trails here. There is no parking here so you have to park on the street. I would say 15 and older are the ages I would bring for this hike. Going downhill is not very strenuous but the heel going up gives you a real workout.
Gabbert Butte Hike - A truly hidden treasure, untouched and serene. I was the only soul on the trail, wandering its narrow, enchanting paths. The rolling hills make for a great cardio workout, and the symphony of birdsong fills the air with life.
Overall a pleasant location to hike at. The trail network contains some steep stretches. A notable feature near the summit is an abandoned truck that was originally used for work involving a cancelled Mt. Hood Highway project.
Well maintained; HUGE elevation gain; not much to see at the top but you get a solid sense of accomplishment. Different trail heads have different markers; no dogs or bikes allowed - these rules are not enforced.
