Confirmed from Gates Pond Reservoir Loop Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I recently visited this loop trail with friends, it's a wonderful walk around picturesque Gates Pond/Reservoir. The trail is as wide as a road and is easy to follow. Plenty of parking at the end of Taylor Road which is the only access road. Take care the road can be rough.

This is my favorite place to hike/walk... And trust me I've hiked many. I live & grew up in the area and every chance I get I try to take this beautiful 2.5 mi walk around the small reservoir. It is always changing, especially through the seasons.

★★★★★ — Victoria , Mar 2020

Beautiful and pleasant walk around the pond, it’s an easy walk. One or two inclines but not hard at all. It’s worth to do the whole loop.

★★★★★ — Luísa , Jun 2022

Many of the trails I review are kid-friendly, and this one is no exception. Nice flat trail with spots to stop along the way to view the pond and skip some rocks. Beautiful and peaceful, just as you want a walk in the woods to be.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 21 mentions

“This is a perfect place to bring your dogs, they're always many at the pond on beautiful days.”
