Confirmed from High Point Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about High Point Greenway
“The trail is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing, biking, or spending time outdoors.”
“Scenic at spots through marshlands, over creeks, wooded, with the occasional view of neighborhoods.”
“The portions of the trail that had boardwalks surrounded by trees and the bog (pictured below) were really enchanting and peaceful.”
The High Point Greenway is a paved trail that has boardwalks and meanders through the woods. When I went in fall 2022 I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of leaf colors! The trails were not that busy. Starting at the Piedmont Environmental Center, I enjoyed this portion of the Greenway—about 1.
3-19-22 4.5 mile (one way) greenway with the northern end at the Piedmont Environmental Center (Penny Road, parking at the center) and the southern end at Armstrong Park (parking here). Bathrooms here at both. There are intersecting parking areas between the two ends at Burnett Park and University Park.
Very nice paved trails with lots of challenging hills! Soo pretty out there!!
It was very nice paved trail, we choose it as our first trail as beginners on bikes, a little hard maybe should have tried a different for our first, alot of hills, a few stairs but with small bike ramp on them, but beautiful scenery love seeing the water
