Confirmed from Phoenix Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is my favorite park in Eau Claire! I like to stay at The Lismore and get coffee at ECDC before taking a walk through the park in the morning. Their Farmer’s Market can’t be best in the summer, and I think the city did a truly amazing job creating a space for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying nature!

Beautiful day and especially at night. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to walk around on a date, group, or with a friend. Plus there’s a fantastic farmers market on Saturday in the summer.

A beautiful public park near downtown Eau Claire. I visited on a winter morning. There were very few people around. It was a great place to take a walk along the river.

Nice area! We drive in from out of town and wanted to stretch our legs and see the area. We spent an hour walking a loop from our car and back. We were really impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. We found free street parking and there were restrooms along the way.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
