Confirmed from Salal Hill's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Salal Hill
“Didn't recognize the name but this place is so beautiful I'm there almost every week.”
Such a family friendly short hike. And we got to see some gray whales on our way up the trail looking over to the ocean!! We loved Yaquina Head Natural Area!! Come here for low tide and let the little ones explore all the sea creatures. It’s so much fun!
It's a nice but short hike. The views are incredible. Very slight fear of heights warning on the last hair pin corner up the trail.
Great short hike. Wonderful views of bird nesting rocks. Usually see seals. Not too steep of a climb, but it gets my heart going.
One of our favorite hikes. Today was nice and cool with an amazing misty/fog that broke as we ascended.
