Confirmed from Will Abell Memorial Trail at Arrowhead Ridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“This is a moderately easy trail through the forest in the San Bernardino Mountains off Grass Valley Road west of Lake Arrowhead.”

Great easy nature walk. We spent an hour on this hike including time for stops at the viewpoint. As folks have mentioned, the trail starts close to a busy road and you can hear traffic for the first half mile. After you get deeper into the hike, it fades substantially. The incline is very mild for seasoned hikers.

Revisited recently for the snow, and it’s incredibly beautiful. Hardly anyone on the trail, might be just my luck. Wonderful hike, took an hour at slow pace, enjoyed the scenery. Fallen trees to maneuver around which made it more fun.

★★★★★ — Sophie , Mar 2022

This was a very pleasant trail. Long enough to work up a sweat but short enough to complete in about an hour. I recommend using the AllTrail App to have an idea of how the elevation gains during the hike to understand how difficult it might be.

★★★★★ — Jhon , Dec 2024

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
