Confirmed from Yellow Fork Canyon's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area with a network of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and snowshoeing.
What runners say about Yellow Fork Canyon
“Very beautiful place to go for a hike, run, or even biking!”
“Great place for a trail run or family walk in the woods.”
“Family friendly hiking area and a hidden gem near to major cities like Riverton, SouthJordan .”
Beautiful area to hike (tons of connecting options). Parking lot was busy however once you get out past the first section of the trail the people disappear. Lots of horses and bikes but not bad at all. Lots of bugs flying around but didn’t get bit.
This is a perfect trail for horseback riding. Please park in the designated horse trailer parking. Ride straight not to the left and you will head up Yellow Fork Canyon. There were some mtn bikers we passed and quite a few hikers with their dogs.
This is an amazing place to go for a hike. The trails are reasonably well marked so exploring can be done with confidence. Wildlife is both abundant and human conditioned so you can, if hiking reasonably quietly, see an incredible array of different species of animals.
Great birdwatching! Has a variety of terrain( stream, forest, scrubland) that adds novelty to hikes. Lots of horseback riders and a number of bikers. Despite the number of horses, the trails I’ve been on have been pretty clean. Also appears to be popular for trail running.

The practical stuff

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
