Wow. This was an experience. Not a long hike but it’s mostly vertical and definitely need some good footwear (sneakers at the very least) and water. I don’t exercise very much and I took my senior father and it was probably around our limit.
Amazing short hike with caves carved in sandstone. We hiked to the caves from the bottom parking lot which is next to the state park at the beach. It makes a 2.5 miles out and back. For free parking don't enter the state park. 100 feet before the entrance take a right and stop by the green gate
No what I was expecting. This comment not helping 😑.. every body has their own label . I won said that is difficult but I won't said that is easy, the main trail is not on gaviota State Park .
Awesome hike. The caves are awesome. So much to explore with great views. Parking is plenty. Just wanted to point out that this hike is east However it is fairly difficult. It starts on a fire road then it quickly turns into a steep hill. It’s followed by rocky/uneven terrain.
