Confirmed from Shiprock Woods Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful, peaceful scenic trail with lots of wildlife. Check out the huge oak tree at the top of the hill.
Pretty little preserve - I think it will be prettier in a few weeks when the tree leaves really start to come out for spring! The trail has some up and down elevation but is nice and pretty empty. Lancaster Conservancy is doing great work.
Great spot for a little hike through the woods. Well maintained impossible to get lost.
Drove by the parking area at first as signage was far back from the road, at the entrance of the trailhead. We were the only ones there on a Sunday afternoon, which is good as the parking area looked like it could only accommodate six vehicles at most. The trail was clear and well marked.
Trail conditions & character
“We took our two young kids, ages 2 and 4, and aside from the initial hill, it was easy for them to manage.”
