PLEASE READ!!! My husband and I are adventurous hikers. We’ve hiked many terrains. Yesterday we went to Susquehannock State Park for a hike. We took the blue trail (not sure the name) which we’ve taken in the past and it overlooks lots of waterfalls and there’s lots of climbing and beautiful views.
Park is overall relatively small but offers beautiful scenery. I hiked the Rhododendron Trail with my dog counterclockwise starting from the James B. Long House, then taking a right on Fire Trail then following the Overlook Trail back around. The hike wasn't populated at all until I got to the Overlook Trail.
Great place for a short hike. Handful of different loops and offers a variety of terrain. Nothing too challenging, however some trails can be quite steep and not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. All the trails are blazed but are all in the same color.
This is an excellent park in Pennsylvania. There are tons of walking trails, hiking trails. There are tables and public bathrooms. The public bathrooms are open seasonally. I believe there are two playgrounds on site. Several public grills are on scene two for a barbecue.
