Wind Mountain is a moderate difficulty hike located shortly off the beaten path of highway 14 in the Gorge. The parking area is ample, and does not require a pass or fee to park, though it’s much less a parking lot and more of a gravel and dirt clearing. There are no restrooms at this trailhead, so come prepared.
Short 2.2 round trip hike with 1100k in EG , with amazing views east and west of the gorge. Good training hike my best is ×10 up and down.
As others point out, the hike starts further down the gravel road from parking area. No real signage, no restroom. Pretty consistently steep hike with occasional flat spots, parts early on Very slippery with loose dirt that could use some trail maintenance, especially for the way down.
This is an amazing hike for any level of experience! It's a bit of a work out, but not too challenging. The views at the top are beautiful and the trail is well maintained. It's the perfect practice for Dog Mountain
